Governor Kathy Hochul has announced New York Biogenesis Park, a $430 million cell and gene therapy hub set to transform the field on Long Island. Backed by a $150 million state investment, this 700,000-square-foot facility in Lake Success will focus on developing life-saving therapies, including treatments for cancer, genetic diseases, and chronic illnesses.

The park will revolutionize medicine by repairing damaged DNA, modifying mutated genes, and engineering therapeutic cells. Researchers aim to tackle conditions like cystic fibrosis, hemophilia, and diabetes, offering hope for breakthroughs in previously untreatable diseases. Dr. Kevin Tracey of Northwell Health’s Feinstein Institutes highlighted the transformative potential of these therapies.
Michael Dowling, CEO of Northwell Health, envisions the facility as a hub for personalized medicine, where treatments are tailored to individual genetic profiles. Beyond medical advances, the park will create thousands of high-skilled jobs and position Long Island as a global leader in healthcare innovation.
New York Biogenesis Park represents a bold step forward in gene-based medicine, with the promise of cures and treatments that were once unimaginable. This transformative project reaffirms New York’s leadership in healthcare innovation and its commitment to changing lives worldwide.
